A Parisian Delight - Cafe de Flore

My my my…Cafe de Flore in Paris is worth the hype folks! Let me tell you all about its rich history, celebrity sightings, and the delectable treats you can enjoy there.

Cafe de Flore has been around since the late 19th century and is one of the oldest coffeehouses in Paris. It quickly became a popular spot for artists, writers, and intellectuals in the 20th century, with figures such as Pablo Picasso, Jean-Paul Sartre, and Simone de Beauvoir frequenting the cafe. Today, Cafe de Flore remains a beloved institution and a must-visit destination for anyone visiting Paris.

Now, let me take you on a virtual trip to this charming cafe. I'll set the scene: It's a crisp winter morning, and Kirk and I are seated at a small table near the front window, sipping our cafe and people-watching. LOL We've been here for a while already, and the street is just starting to buzz as you know Parisians never awake early…

After we finish our coffee, we decide to order some more substantial fare. I practice my French and order a "pain au chocolat" and Kirk gets a croissant, both of which arrive warm and buttery, with layers upon layers of flaky pastry.

We also order some savory dishes. I opt for the "quiche Lorraine," which is a savory pie filled with cheese, ham, and eggs. Kirk goes for the "omelette au saumon," a fluffy omelet filled with smoked salmon and herbs. We both agree that the food is delicious and satisfying.

But we can't leave without trying the hot chocolate. I order a "chocolat chaud" to see if it’s as off the chain as folks rave. The hot chocolate arrives in a small cup, with a dollop of cream on the side and as soon as I take a sip, I'm transported to a cozy winter evening by the fireplace. It's rich, thick, and velvety, with a hint of bitterness from the dark chocolate. BOMB.COM.

Overall, our experience at Cafe de Flore was delightful. We enjoyed the charming atmosphere, the friendly service, and, of course, the delicious food and drink. If you're ever in Paris, I highly recommend stopping by this iconic cafe for a taste of history and a treat for the taste buds.
